While traditional physiotherapy treatment is always changing, and sometimes requires a more hands on approach, I want to help you return to your sport or activity as soon as possible! An appropriate treatment plan takes into account your activity goals, pain levels, pathology, and a clear path to achieve your goals.

 

I want to help people move and achieve their goals.  My philosophy has always been that movement is medicine! So while you can expect a thorough initial assessment, in which we will talk about your concerns and goals, we also will discuss an individualized treatment plan and you can be guaranteed to leave with some exercises.  Sometimes, a lot of exercises.  Once your main concerns are managed, I encourage patients to continue their journey with strength programming and planning as they transition away from therapy and towards strength and performance training.

Sport Injury, Pain + Tendinopathy

No matter what your injury is, if you are struggling to move, having back or neck pain, experiencing nerve pain, shoulder, elbow or wrist pain, TMJ pain, headaches, hip, ankle or knee pain.  These are all under the realm of Physiotherapy.  While I strongly believe that movement is medicine, sometimes we need some hands on therapy to get us there.  

Treatment plans can also include: Dry needling/IMS, joint mobilization and manipulation, myofascial release, and taping.

ACL + Post-op Return to Sport

Whether its a fresh injury, had surgery yesterday or had surgery 10 years ago, even great rehab can sometimes struggle with return to sport.  If you are still experiencing pain or fatigue from an old surgical procedure or traumatic sport injury, and struggling to return to your sport, an assessment of your mobility, strength and power, can guide us towards a treatment plan that helps you return to your sport - better, faster and stronger.

If you are currently awaiting a surgical procedure, pre-hab is a great method to get you stronger going into surgery - which has shown to have greater outcomes post-operatively.

Concussion

Sport Concussion can affect your return to play, work or learning.  It is vital to have guidance and up to date information about what to expect from concussion progression and rehabilitation. Whether its an acute concussion, or post concussion syndrome, my training has helped successfully manage athletes to return to sport. 

Currently only accepting sport and activity related concussions. If you are making an ICBC or worksafe claim please contact me for other therapist recommendations. 

Strength +
Power

No matter what your sport or activity is, developing motor coordination, strength and power helps to build resilience to load and activity.  Some sports require sport specific movements, other activities might just require increasing strength, mobility and power.  

I accept all levels of athletes and all sports - from weekend warriors to high level athletes. I have a long history of working with runners (beginners, marathoners and ultras), triathletes, soccer and rugby players, basketball and volleyball players, skiiers/snowboarders, golfers, yogis and dancers. 

Run Assessment

Are you getting ready to run an ultra? or are you starting out running for the first time? Couch to 5km programs are great to get you started, but having a run assessment can help to identify areas of your running and mechanics that can improve with specific exercises. If you are having difficulty picking up your pace, or struggling to increase your mileage, this is a great option to add an extra layer to improving your performance.

All levels of runners are accepted.  If you are starting out, running any race distance (including ultramarathons), or trying to improve your performance on the field, I can help you.
